Thursday!

It was a wonderful Thursday, and a fantastic way to end our mission work here in West Virginia. Our five groups set off to each of their work sites to make lasting impressions on the community. To wrap up our week in Williamson, we had a community cookout and enjoyed a meal with the members of the community  that have touched our heart. Country Roads, take me home!

This was my final mission trip and it was an incredibly moving experience. I had the opportunity to work and grow with 15  other outstanding people. Today was, without a doubt, the best day of mission work I've ever had. My crew went to the home of and elderly woman named Wilma, and we fixed up her home and lawn after it had been vandalized. She is incredibly strong in faith and mind, and it is sub an inspiration seeing her faith so strong even though she has experienced lots of tragedy.
For dinner we had a community cookout, which was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with the kids we had played with earlier in the week. We ended the night with foot washing, and it was a cleansing and emotional experience. I will miss West Virginia lots, but I also can't wait to be home!
